Our Ceylon Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is known for its relatively non-toxic nature, primarily composed of Cinnamaldehyde and Eugenol. The major component in this oil is Cinnamaldehyde.

The essential oil from the bark of cinnamon zeylanicum consists of trans-cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, and linalool as the main components, representing more than 80% of the total composition , and transcinnamaldehyde can account for up to 98% of the total. In contrast, the dried stem bark of cinnamon cassia consists of cinnamaldehyde, cinnamic acid, cinnamyl alcohol, and coumarin as the major components. The ultra-low level of coumarin reported in cinnamon zeylanicum is an advantage as coumarin is known to possess hepatotoxic and carcinogenic properties, and hence can cause ill effects in human beings.
